Are there any specific storage instructions?
All Grafityp materials should always be stored in their original packaging and with the original protective flanges (preferably vertically). To prevent loss of quality, Grafiprint print film should also be stored in suitable conditions, i.e., a temperature between 10 and 20°C and a relative humidity of 50%. Under these conditions, Grafiprint materials can be stored for two years.
What are the recommended printer settings?
If Grafiprint media is used on an (eco) solvent printer, the printer’s temperature settings are crucial. Depending on the ambient conditions, the ink volume, and the required print quality, we recommend a preheater temperature between 35 and 45°C for these printers. This temperature can be increased, provided the material remains flat. Too high a temperature can lead to poorer print results and color variations, as the material softens and becomes wavy. The same applies when using an after-header (dryer). Grafiprint recommends an after-header temperature approximately 5 to 10°C higher than the preheater temperature. However, the material should not become wavy. In general, the temperature of both heaters should be set as high as possible without causing the material to exhibit any waviness.
What is the recommended drying time?
It is extremely important that prints made with an (eco) solvent printer dry sufficiently before laminating and/or gluing. Ensure that the material is well ventilated. For standard prints, a drying time of 24 to 48 hours is required. For very dark prints or large amounts of ink on the material, a drying time of 48 to 72 hours is required.
What about the ink quantity?
Large amounts of solvent ink on the material can activate the ink on the back print. If the material is then rolled up too quickly, the back print may become visible in the print.
What about the foil color?
Since the color of the film can vary slightly with each production run, we recommend not using films with different batch numbers in the same critical order. The number to use for this purpose consists of the first five digits of the 7-digit batch number.
Is it allowed to cover an entire room with wall decoration?
It’s not recommended to cover an entire room with wall art due to the potential odor of eco-solvent ink. If you want to decorate a wall from floor to ceiling, Grafityp recommends a maximum of two strips, each 50 cm wide.
