1. Why is TheMagicTouch DTF Film Premium a “warm peel film” and not a “hot peel film?”
TheMagicTouch DTF Film Premium is basically what is often called a “hot peel film”. However, the following applies to all hot peel films: If a transfer press has been heated thoroughly and the base plate has also become hot, it may happen that if the carrier is removed very quickly after pressing, small details may not be transferred properly.
Also the type of powder and ink that is being used can have an influence on this as some powders cure faster once pressed onto the garment than others. It is therefore wise to let the print cool slightly by briefly fanning the textile a few times and then removing it so that the glue is already somewhat stuck to the textile. We therefore prefer to speak of a warm peel. Cooling completely to cold, as with a cold peel film, is certainly not necessary, but cooling down a little ensures problem-free processing.
2. Is TheMagicTouch DTF Film Premium also suitable for my DTF printer?
TheMagicTouch DTF films are suitable for most common DTF printers that can print from rolls.
3. Does it matter which side of the DTF film I print on?
Certainly. There is a special coating on the matte side of the film that is very important for good adhesion of the ink during printing and at the same time ensures a good transfer when applicating the print onto the garment.
The matte side must therefore be on top, so that the ink is printed on the matte side.
4. If I want to use the film on white textiles, should I still use white ink?
Yes, although most printers have a separate setting for white textiles that uses less white ink. It is not possible without white ink, because too little or no glue powder will stick to the image.
